House of Kalapi is a slow-fashion knitwear house built on one slightly radical idea: clothes should be made with time, intention, and respect, for the hands that craft them and the people who wear them. It exists because we were tired of clothes that felt disposable: made quickly, worn briefly, forgotten easily. We wanted pieces that meant something. Pieces with weight. Memory. Spine.

Every piece we make is hand-knitted by skilled artisans, stitch by deliberate stitch. No machines racing against deadlines. No shortcuts dressed up as efficiency. Just time, skill, and quiet mastery.

The brand is co-founded by Sweety, who leads supply chain and operations with quiet precision, ensuring that every piece is produced responsibly, fairly, and without compromise; and Dhanya, who heads marketing and finance, shaping Kalapi’s voice, strategy, and long-term vision.

Would we gift this to our own families?
If the answer isn’t an immediate yes, it doesn’t ship. Brutal. Necessary.
